Webs of Deception

Fall, it’s a time of leaves falling and changing its colours. As the air becomes crisp and the spiders spin their webs. So also the enemy spins his own webs that we so easily fall into. A fall that paralyzes the believer leading them to forget the things that they once learned and fall into empty traditions of man (Colossians 2:8; Philippians 4:8). A fall that leads the believer who once learned and put things that are Holy into practice to change their colours and fall back into the ways of the world. No longer reading their bibles. No longer going to Church. No longer in fellowship but instead place themselves in a sort of hiding. Lacking in prayer life, and wondering why their life is lacking in that Godly power that they hear of others encountering. Those who once had a new warm loving heart have traded it in for search of their old heart and then wondered why the feelings they once had have not left their memory or been healed. It is because they have dug their old selves up from the grave and took off the new identity they have been given and placed it in the closet. They put that new identity on from time to time as if it were some sort of costume. Occasionally worn to church, or to some event, or time with the family when we want them to see us forcing a smile as if everything is okay. But who is the real person when the doors are closed? God sees who you are behind the mask, and HE wants to show the world who you are in HIS name not the mask you place on from time to time. We are drained because we allow our spiritual life to be neglected and feed our flesh. The Natural Reaction for us having an Encounter with a Supernatural God is worship and a Pure and Holy Surrender leaving us unashamed and boldly able to shout the name of Jesus to the rooftops! It’s time to take the mask of insecurity, doubt, shame and condemnation; and wear your new name and identity that GOD has given you! Don’t ignore the LIFELINE in front of you by gripping onto the chains that held behind you.

Heal Our Land

heal-our-land_2-chronicles-7-vs-14

Bible Text=> 2 Kings 2:19-22.
The etymology of the word “healed” conveys an end to a thing and the renewal of health. Everyone needs healing in one form or the other, an end to the unpleasant in our lives.

Let’s study 2 Kings 2:19-22 (our text).

    1. The situation of the city was pleasant. But something was wrong; the water was bitter and the ground was barren (verse 19).
    2. The men of the city sought God’s help through His prophet (verse 19).
    3. The prophet gave them direction “bring me a new cruse and put salt therein.” (verse 20).
    4. They obeyed the prophet and their waters were healed (verse 20b-22).

Our lives remain similar to the people in our text. Everything God created was good (see Genesis 1:31). The situation was pleasant because we don’t need to stress ourselves as God has created everything we need before creating us (see Genesis 1:3-27). But something happened, the enemy came and planted bitterness in our lives as a result of the fall (see Genesis 3:1-19). And he– the enemy, made us barren (spiritually etc).

Glory be to God for His mercies. He made another way for us through His only Son— Jesus Christ— to save us from our sins and to heal our land. Though this provision is for all men,it will only work for those who seek it, those who chose the right path (see Deuteronomy 30:19-20).

Healing can only work for those who seek God through Jesus Christ and obey His instruction in 2
Chronicles 7:14 (a must-read). You need to turn from your wicked ways before your land can be healed.

“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.” Isaiah 1:19.

Walking with God: Study on Noah

What does it mean to “walk with God?” Walking can be defined as taking big leaps of faith (Matthew 15:28; Hebrews 11:1) or as a series of small steps in the same direction over a long period of time.In order to walk together,you have to be going in the same direction (Colossians 2:6). If you’re living your life according to your own comfort level and what pleases the flesh then you can NOT be walking in the same path the Lord directed and planned for you (see Proverbs 16:9).

“For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those controlled by the flesh cannot please God.” Romans 8:7-8.

It is only through faith that we are able to please GOD when our hearts are conditioned to worship HIM (see Matthew 6:21) and not the things of this world (see 1 John 2:15-17) or follow culture trends rather than seeking FIRST the Kingdom of GOD (see Matthew 6:33).

“By faith Noah,being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen,in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.” Hebrews 11:7

The descendants of Cain—who were the largest part of the world’s population—opposed true faith. Even those who knew GOD’S holiness and truth were being tested by giving into the lust of the world. Their faith was tested by intermarriage. The descendants of Seth intermarried the descendants of Cain (see Genesis 6:2-3). After intermarriage, what people originally had thought was wrong, they no longer thought wrong. This is exactly what happens to us when we compromise our faith and mix it with the traditions of the world,forgetting that we are the bride and are to remain holy and faithful. They followed their own standards rather than GOD’S. And all mankind had become corrupted as only Noah and HIS family during this time was found righteous. He was faithful and he followed GOD. Noah had preached to them, As did Enoch before him but the people did not listen and those who did obviously did not have true repentance in their hearts. As sin became a thing of the normal,people became comfortable in it, it appeared less and less sinful, until finally they declared that the Divine law was no longer in force. They believed it was contrary to the character of God to punish transgression, so they thought Noah’s message was just a delusion. They may have possibly believed Noah partially that it was going to rain but not prepared to enter the ark, so instead mocked Noah as he built it.Many of us unfortunately are this same way that we believe what is being heard but yet we do not take the steps that are needed to enter into the ark of salvation and transformation.
Shalom.

FRUITFULNESS: ANALOGY BETWEEN YOU AND A PLANT

fruitfulness-in-christ-john-15-vs-5
Bible Text=> John 15:1-8.
As the purpose of every plant is to bear fruits. So also,is your purpose to be fruitful. The prerequisite for fruitfulness is growth. There is no way you can bear fruit without growing,just like a plant won’t bear any fruit without germinating.Therefore,there is a need for you to grow.
